About Us
Chartered in 1972, the Winsloe Lions Club has been dedicated to serving the community for over four decades. Our 30 members work together to support important causes, including raising over $120,000 for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and regularly donating to the IWK Children's Hospital. We are also proud supporters of the Lions Foundation of Canada guide dogs. Through community fundraisers, we assist local residents in need, particularly with medical-related travel expenses, ensuring that no one in our community faces challenges alone. Additionally, our spacious hall is available for rent, hosting a variety of events such as weddings, birthdays, staff parties, meetings, and more. The Winsloe Lions Club is committed to making a positive impact on our community, one act of service at a time.
Winsloe Lions Memorial Rink
The Winsloe Lions Club community rink is a multi-purpose space for winter and summer activities. Construction of the rink started in July 2023, and it officially opened on January 7, 2024, in memory of past Winsloe Lions Club members who served the community.
In winter, the rink becomes a beautiful ice skating area for residents to skate and play hockey, with daily ice maintenance for safety and a small heated dressing room on site to keep you warm as you lace up your skates. In summer, it shifts to support ball hockey and other sports.
Open daily from 8 AM to 11 PM, the rink is funded by the North Shore Chase the Ace lottery. This project not only offers recreation but also promotes community spirit and remembrance in Winsloe.
